Sport fishing (also known “Recreational fishing”) is fishing by any means for pleasure as well as recreational purpose.
It may be at personal level (on amateur basis, not for survival) or fishing competition, sport and challenge level. It is differed from commercial fishing, because sport fishing does not include sale, barter, or trade.
Sport fishing or harvesting limited to use of certain gear types (mostly rod and reel) where fish can only be used for personal consumption or must be released uninjured condition and not sold, exchanged, or traded of all or part of all catches.
বিনোদনমূলক মাছ ধরা:
নির্মল আনন্দ লাভের উদ্দেশ্যে মাছ ধরা বা শিকার করাই হচ্ছে বিনোদনমূলক মাছ ধরা (বিনোদনমূলক মাছ শিকারও বলা হয়)।
এটি হতে পারে কেবলমাত্র ব্যক্তিগত পর্যায়ে শৌখিন মাছ শিকার অথবা হতে পারে মাছ ধরার কোন প্রতিযোগিতায় বা খেলায় জয়লাভের মাধ্যমে আনন্দ প্রাপ্তি। এ উদ্দেশ্যে ধরা মাছ যেমন ব্যক্তিগত পরিসরে খাবার হিসেবে ব্যবহার যেতে পারে তেমনই ক্ষতি না করে পুনরায় পানিতে ছেড়ে দেয়া যেতে পারে।
তবে বিনোদনমূলক মাছ ধরার উদ্দেশ্য কোনভাবেই বাণিজ্যিক হতে পারবেনা অর্থাৎ এভাবে ধরা মাছ বা এর অংশবিশেষ বিক্রয় বা বিনিময় করা যাবেনা, করলে তা বাণিজ্যিক মাছ ধরা হিসেবে বিবেচিত হবে।
