অ্যাসিলোমেট

যেসব প্রাণীদের পৌষ্টিকনালি বহিঃ আবরণী ও দেহ-প্রাচীরের অন্তঃ আবরণীর মধ্যবর্তী স্থান নিরেটভাবে মেসোডার্ম উদ্ভূত কোষ বা কলা দিয়ে পূর্ণ থাকে তাদের অ্যাসিলোমেট (Acoelomate) বলে [বহুবচনে বলে অ্যাসিলোমেটস (acoelomates)]।

যেমন- প্ল্যাটিহেলমিনথিস (platyhelminthes) পর্বের প্রাণী চেপ্টা-কৃমি, ফিতা-কৃমি ইত্যাদি, নিডেরিয়া (cnidaria) পর্বের জেলি ফিস ইত্যাদি এবং টেনোফোর (ctenophora) পর্বের চিরুনি জেলিফিস (comb jellies) ইত্যাদি প্রাণীরা অ্যাসিলোমেট ধরণের।

প্রাণীদেহের দেহ-গহ্বর তরলে পূর্ণ না থেকে কোষ বা কলা দিয়ে পূর্ণ থাকলে সে ধরণের দেহ-গহ্বরকে অ্যাসিলোম (Acoelom) বলে।

অ্যাসিলোম (Acoelom) বিশিষ্ট প্রাণীরা যে দলের অন্তর্ভূক্ত তাকে অ্যাসিলোমাটা (Acoelomata) বলে।

Acoelomate:

Acoelomate (plural acoelomates) means an animal that lacks a fluid filled body cavity named coelom. Body cavity (the space between outer side of alimentary canal and inner side of body wall) of acoelomates is filled with mesodermal cell as well as tissue.

Examples: animals under the platyhelminthes (flatworms, tapeworms etc.), the cnidarians (jellyfish and allies), and the ctenophores (comb jellies).

Acoelom means a body cavity (the space between outer side of alimentary canal and inner side of body wall) that filled with cells or tissues.

The name of the group of acoelomates is Acoelomata.
